Hi, thanks all
It went well - they had me on till serving a few customers and then an interview, manager was really nice and said she'd be in touch on Mon - hate the waiting part.
Had letter about housing benefit claim asking me to go in for an interview on Monday - so hopefully will get a decision soon. They definately aren't going to backdate it though so dunno if it will be enough even if i do get it.
So long weekend in limboland for me!Halifax £744 and coming down

Grrgh! Had to update sig, debt supposed to be going down not up

Nationwide refunded bank charges and some interest out of the blue and recieved first JSA payment, so was able to pay off quite a few outstanding bills and buy food (£10) and electricity. Now have £12 before hit overdraft again.
Not able to pay big bills due, rent and council tax so actual amount owed gone up.Halifax £744 and coming down

Bit stuck on job hunting front - no new jobs online, in jobcentre or local papers. Already sent out cv's to all suitable companies in the area in last few weeks - went through phone book. Spending today cleaning and sorting mostly. Waiting is really getting me down.Halifax £744 and coming down

Hi. I really wouldn't move as you could possible be seen to be making yourself homeless ? and also as someone said it will be harder to find a job with no fixed address.
You really need to get on to the benefit people and explain how dire your situation is. Why can't they backdate your claim from the day you put the claim in- that doesn't seem right. Don't forget you can always complain if you are not getting the amount you are entitled to.
When did you start to claim JSA? you may need to try and chase them as well?

I really don't want to move but need some money coming in. JSA made first payment yesterday thankfully so have a little (very little) to live on. But still have major problems getting anything to pay the big bills. People at council seem to have very little time or sympathy and just say we'll be sending you a letter. Letter then asks me to come in for an interview next week (after the date i've told them when my rent was due) it's like they want me to be evicted. LL has been really understanding but is insisting rightly that she gets paid and in full asap. Has provided current tenancy agreement now which i took to council only to be told go away and come back for interview. Argh!Halifax £744 and coming down

Update
All council did was take all evidence off me again - i could have given it all last week instead of waiting a week for meeting! On a positive note said that final decision would given this week.
Definately moving out on 20th and housing benefit and LL keeping deposit should mean i owe nothing rent wise. Landlady has said if i get a full time job before then i may even be able to stay.
No word from McDonalds yet, will ring if don't hear soon. Also have another interview tom (i know two interviews in just over a week after months of nothing).Halifax £744 and coming down

Good luck with the job hunting. X x
Have you Ebayed all the Ebayable things you have for some extra cash? You will have time to get them online and posted before you move.
Do you use the job centre online to look up jobs also? http://www.jobcentreplus.gov.uk/Internet/setLocale.do?country=GB&language=en&page=/initialise.do
Also have you tried cold calling a few companies in your line of work? You could ask them if they are currently fully staffed or not. You never know you might fall lucky.0
