IBM ThinkPad R50e Drivers problem..

My daughter has an IBM Thinkpad R50e. Other model numbers required on lenavo site are 1834 -S5G. I had to reinstall Windows after formatting the other day as she clogged it with loads of nasties. After downloading the drivers from the lenavo site, we find we have no internet access, either wirelessly or via cable. Device Manager is showing yellow question marks on everything to do with ethernet. I'm pretty sure I've downloaded every driver that mentions anything to do with internet, but with no luck. As I'm sure a lot of parents here would relate to, teenage daughters are lost without internet access.
Can anyone offer any advice or help please?
Thanks in advance.

running xp..it says drivers are not installed..Asks me if I want to let windows search for them but it has no internet to be able to..Also it does not have the original hardrive with the recovery partition.Original drive developed a fault ages ago and needed replacing.0 -

You say you got "every driver", I hope you didn't just blindly install everything you could find
Go to your device manager and right click / uninstall all the devices that aren't working, restart your PC and let windows find the drivers.
Wait a second............
When you open the driver package from IBM/Lenovo, it doesn't install the drivers, it un-compresses them into a folder called "drivers" on the C drive, you then have to go into that folder to install the actual drivers.
Have you done that?“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”
