Cancelled the sports last month and you guessed it -A offer arrived by post
either 3 months half price on sport package or
6 months half price on both sports and movie package!.
On top of this i am getting 3 months free HD because our box was recalled due to wiring fault.0 -
I have the full sky package and have been with them for over 10 years. I just called and said that being honest, I don't want to cancel, have lost job and want them to help me being a loyal customer. I said I could lie and put it in another name. First guy couldn't help but after a while said he would put me through to a designated team.
I said the same thing to the next guy who laughed at my honesty and he said I can have HD installed for free (I will do this at a later date) or 25% off. I went for that.

Doing this at a later date means that Sky probably wont give you that deal as that offer for free sky+hd free install is a point of call offer, so when you call back they may say that it's no longer avialable! what were they charging you for the sky+hd box?You can't be lost if you don't know where you're going.0 -

I know, but if they don't, I will cancel and apply with a different name.
It was for a free box and installation. The whole point was to reduce my monthly bill so I didn't want that yet as that would mean £56 a month.0 -
Do you think it is still worth me calling even though I have only had Sky for about 14 months?0

Always worth a try. Just be persistant. As I said, the first man I spoke to said he couldn't do anything but he put me through to the 'designated team' where someone did help.0 -

Best thing to do, get through to the right person... say look the deal is you annoyed with you offering sky hd and half price movies for 12 months to new customers... say look what im going to do if you don't offer this to me is, order through quidco get my £60, get free install and setup in my girlfriends name and bank account. This would cost you (sky) as a company more money than offering me the deal, as you have to credit check my girlfriend cost £2, pay £80 to affiliate firm, setup direct debit £5 and go though another contract and out of spite id rip all the dish down and rip cables down so you would have to do job again. When the boxes cost the price of £50 to you and even cheaper as wholesale, costs you £10 to install when wires are there and get me to commit to a further 12 months..... After this they don't accept, ring a further 2 times and I bet they accept it.Kind Regards
