Halifax Faster Payments Daily Limit?

Does anyone have a definitive answer about this?
I manage to transfer out £4000 by FP on Saturday, into my HSBC current account (sending 1k at a time, because it didn't allow £6000 at once). Any more above that, it said, would have to go by BACS. I assumed I'd hit the daily limit, so planned to log on and send the remaining 2k on Sunday.
On Sunday, again, it said I'd have to send by BACS. I thought it was perhaps because it was a Sunday... maybe FPs have a little break then too, sometimes. I'll try again Monday, I thought.
This morning, I yet again tried to send by FP, and it still says I have to use the bill payment service, payment date Wednesday. I phoned Halifax, and they tell me there is no limit for FP... which I believe to be incorrect as I know I have seen people talk about it here.
I just feel it's totally silly. Why shouldn't I be able to put my money into a decent account, rather than leaving it in the web saver paying a paltry 0.10% for that extra day it'll take to BACS it? Grr.
