I had to pay postage as ebay seller had put none on package...

Hi,
I got a card through the door saying I needed to pay £2.08 to collect a parcel that had insufficient postage. I paid and collected and it's an item I bought off ebay. I emialed the seller 2 days ago to ask for a refund of the postage and they have ignored me. What can I do apart from leave a negative?
There was no postage on the parcel at all I assume it must have fallen off!

As a seller I've had this happen to me...... the stamps falling off in transit and it's really annoying. Was it a plastic mailing bag? Being so smooth & shiny these are the worst if the PO have used stamps.
I'd give the seller another day or so to reply - maybe he/she is unable to get to their computer at the moment, or might be on holiday. I'm sure they will refund you once they know what's happened - I always have

I'd give the seller more time as they might be away.
I too have had this happen to me, in fact I had a really terrible few days last year when I was using the sorting office to send my goods as they were open until 7pm and I could rush in a couple of times a week.
Unfortunately they used stamps which slid off or even worse pencilled the amount on the envelope, charged me and gave me a COP and then forgot to add any postage at all.
Absolute nightmare, luckily all my buyers were really wonderful and I had nothing but good feedback. OBviously I refunded them and reclaimed all the costs from RM.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Remember you can always request contact info from ebay, so that you can call the seller if they fail to respond to your email/ebay message."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100

Be patient. Not everyone has Internet access that they can use every day, and people sometimes have a lot to do and can't get onto their computer. I wouldn't say that they've ignored you after only 2 days. And like you say, you assume the postage must have fallen off, so it's probably not the seller's fault. I'd just wait a few more days and give them the benefit of the doubt.I emialed the seller 2 days ago to ask for a refund of the postage and they have ignored me. If there's no urgency in terms of your window to opening a possible dispute then give the seller a couple more days to respond. Send another email, then give them a further day.
Now, after that I'm sure there must you can open a dispute for SNAD, as you paid for postage and did not receive it. Perhaps there is another ebay specific dispute that applies in this case though. Soolin is the resident expert on these things by far, so I would see what she has to say on possible follow ups if your seller does indeed ignore you or refuses to reinburse.0
