That monitor is actually quite good...By the way i have a tv/monitor that i use as a tv. It is a 20" Samsung sm2032mw.0 -
Good to hear TF. So that would do for now i guess.
But when i want to upgrade, can i just buy any model monitor and will it work, or do i have to go for certain types. I ask this, as about 5 years ago, my desktop from PC world never worked, and it was due to monitor not being suited to the desktop.
Thats why im abit worried in future about just buying a good one.0 -
Almost anything will do, provided you don't get something too large for the graphics card to handle. The Radeon HD 4870, for example, can cope with resolutions of up to 2560x1600.0

So any top end graphics card I.E....GTX or Radeon 4850 upwards will go on any monitor.
I would only want a 22" in future anyway, so any monitor would work with it then.
Cheers TF, much appreciated all this help, much better than so called "pc forums":p0 -

Most 22" panels have the same native resolution (1680x1050) as your current display, so all you'd really get out of that would be larger pixels. To complement the kind of system you're planning on getting, you'd probably get better results with something slightly bigger.
Conversely, were you to get a system with a less powerful GPU you wouldn't need a larger display anyway.

Ok thanks again TF. I might go for a 24" then.:j
P.S so called credit crunch, but the prices for gaming pc's seem the same:rolleyes:0 -
You could always get a cheaper one...0

Indeed i could:D
But i want it to run and look awesome.;)
My old gaming pc was good, but i cut one or two corners to save £100 or so, and it never blew me away.So i said next time i get one, i will pay that bit extra to make it feel special.0 -
I upgraded mine with a 9600GT last year, and since I have a mere 20" monitor myself I'm pretty sure that'll be all I'll need for the foreseeable future. My most recent purchase was World of Goo, and that's been installed on my year-old Eee! :laugh:0
