Hi everyone
We are getting married next year at a castle and have been told by the venue that we need public liability with a minimum of £5million and this must include accidental damage to the castle. I have looked around at wedding insurance as many of these policies seem to include public liability but most of the companies that I have looked at only include public liability to a max of £2.5m. Any companies that do have £5m on the policy are with companies I have never heard of and at these times of hardship where companies seem to be folding regularly, I dont want to go with someone that folds and takes my money with them! Has anyone got any suggestions of major companies that insure to this level as I have to provide the castle with evidence of the liability and accidental cover. Thanks!

Avoid anything underwritten by E&L.
Try this company as they are the market leaders and have a very good reputation, if the standard policy cannot cover it then just give them a ring as they should be able to sort it out for you. http://www.weddingsurance.co.uk/
By the way, when the foot and mouth problems mean lots of weddings were cancelled due to exclusion zones they paid out on their policy as it provided good publicity for them in the media. So with the current problems with Swine Flu this could be worth bearing in mind. I cannot guarantee they will cover it, you could always ask them0
