PayPal Payment question

Although this is a PayPal question, it was not an Ebay sale but I didn't know where else to post it. On Tuesday 14th pm, I made an online purchase for an electrical item using PayPal funded by my bank debit card. I also paid for next day delivery and as it was a pm order, I expected delivery Thursday 16th. By Friday 17th late am the item hadn't arrived so my wife telephoned the company. The proprietor informed her that the item was out of stock, And if I wanted a refund I was to email him.
I checked my bank account online and the payment had not been debited although my PayPal account said payment had been made. I presumed that the transaction had not been fully completed as my bank account had not been debited, so I bought another similar item elsewhere. However today I have checked my bank online and the PayPal debit is now showing. I know I now need to contact the seller to ask for a refund but how do I get the refund back into my bank account rather than my PayPal account!? I could do to be armed with this information before I make contact. Can somebody please help me as it is evident I have been rather foolish in delaying contact... Thanks in advance!!

Your seller just has to press the refund button and it will go to your PayPal account.

However it will not be returned to your bank account unless you authorise it with PayPal it is free to do so for amounts over £50 but otherwise they will levy a charge.

If under £50 i would just keep it in my PayPal account for future purchases.
