Hi, I'm new to posting but have been reading for several months now. I've been looking after my ex husbands bank accounts on line for a while now (its a long story!) and as things are a bit tight for him I suggested I take a look at his credit card statements. What a mess, late payments every month (he still posts cheques off!) and PPI's coming out of his ears. So, I've got as far as requesting statements and have so far only received them from Creation Finance for a store card. Have done the letter requesting late payment fee refunds but they also have on them TWO insurances, one an Accidental Death Plan which is a fixed monthly fee and one which is just listed as 3D which is effectively PPI insurance. We have requested a copy of terms and conditions today. My husband is and always has been self employed, which I'm thinking should cover him for the 3D one, but not sure about the Accidental Death one. He took the card out in store and has absolutely no idea what he was asked or what was said, if I know him he just nodded and smiled in all the right places and signed on the dotted line. There is no way he would have known he was signing up for these insurances and probably didnt think they were optional. I'm just not sure which basis to claim on? And I've also noticed on here reference to store staff not being qualified to sell these insurances and again that would make them mis-sold? I think what I'm asking is do we go for one or two of the strongest points we have that these were mis-sold, or do we cite as many relevant points as possible?

These forums are incredibly helpful and supportive, except I am finding the more I learn the more confused I get! Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks

    Hello there and welcome.;)

In regards of reclaiming on the PPI, use the templates to help you through this, but write your own reasons, you will also come across useful information in regards of mis sold policies.
Link here to the guidelines of reclaiming with templates:
    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance
They have 8 weeks to respond in full.

If they send the first response and do not resolve in your hubby's favour, write back and ask them to reconsider, they normally give you the opportunity to do this, then in the final response they should give details of the financial ombudsman service (FOS) if eligible and not satsified with the outcome of your complaint.
Remember to post all letters by recorded delivery.

In regards of reclaiming back charges check out the information on the link below as these would be a separate matter, if you post on that link, you should receive help in what you should do, good luck.

Please let us know how you get on and post up for help when required, cheers.;)
