Additional Discount?
Hi,
My Mum has about £8000 cash to spend (including scrappage) and I was wondering if any dealers are giving additional discounts? I called into a Hyundai dealer today and they were in "take it or leave it" mode. They're selling more than they can get. I'm looking for a really good deal on a good car though.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Steve.

At the lower end you will struggle to get any additional discount. The £1k they have to give in the scheme is a substantial discount on a cheap car. To get a deal you will need to look at less popular marques.0

Plenty of manufacturers/dealers are offering extra discounts (Citroen, Nissan, Fiat - except 500).
Google 'scrappage offers' and have a look.0 -
Remember, the scrappage deal is in the form of a voucher provided to the dealer. It is funded 50/50 by the government and the manufacturer.
There should be no reason a dealer can't also provide the deals they currently do to non-scrappage customers. Shop around if your local dealer wants to pocket the scrappage money for themselves."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100
