Free disposal of paving
I don't know if this will be helpful to anyone else, but I have just managed to get my old paving slabs removed for free! I placed an add on my local freecycle site despite my OH's insistance that no one would want them - and within an hour I had 20+ requests for them. They weren't anything special, just old bog-standard grey, but someone came round with a trailer and collected the whole lot an hour after I advertised them.
Saved me having to hire a skip and someone got free paving slabs out of it! If you're not familiar with freecycle, google it!

Well done! I'm actually on the other end of that, I want some slabs for making paths at my allotment. They come up on freecycle fairly frequenty but I've not yet found any that are close enough - I wouldn't want too many in the back of my old car for too long.0
