Cost of replacing gas bolier with BG

I have just had an "energy efficiency" meeting with a member of BG staff following an annual service of my 24 year old Gloworm boiler, which the engineer considered as being in excellent condition. During the chat, the BG man obviously mentioned that my boiler. whilst being in good condition, could "go" at any time and parts may not be available. The usual scaremongering stuff. However,I was interested in what he had to say, and he recommended that I replace it with a Baxi condensing boiler of which they had recently taken delivery "as a job lot" because they were bought for the building industry, and because of the downturn, they have to get rid of them. I nearly fell of my chair when he told me the price. £2500:eek: but I would get £100 off that ( big deal) and a year's free Homecare (about £270). I obviously declined, but I couldn't believe that price. Surely you can get them cheaper than that, can't you? It's only for a two bedroomed terraced house!

BG not log ago signed a dealership with baxi as said before the quote was cheap for BG lol but the deal last year was a years free gas from BG id push for that as well.
