Hello OldStyleeee People!
Mr GG and I are the proud new owners of a brand spanking new Slow Cooker. I am so very happy.
Only problem now is where to start. I am NO Delia, nor am I very successful at cook by numbers, though I shall sure as hell give it a go.
I guess what I am asking is what is the easiest, peasiest, recipe to start with? Something for 2 persons.
Things I have in the freezer are:
Chicken breast
Lamb Chops
8 Sausages
In the fridge I have:
Baby corn
Mangetout
Fine Beans
Peppers
Potatoes
Onion
Garlic
(all the veg was on sale!)
In the cupboards I have:
Chick Peas
Tuna
Anchovies
Baked Beans
Passatta
Tinned Toms
Tinned Kidney Beans
Tinned Sweetcorn
Various Herbs (the cooking kind, not the smoking!!)
Anyone got any inspiration from any of the ingredients above? Me, I have drawn a blank.
In advance, I thank anyone who has taken the time to read, and chuckle at my complete inability to cook, and post a reply, to those who post a recipe, well I thank you even more!!!!

Sausage casserole!!!
Grill sausages just to brown them off (otherwise they stay all pink and strange looking in the slow cooker!). Chop them and bung in slow cooker
Chop and gently fry an onion. Bung in slow cooker.
Add chopped peppers, some veg - any that you fancy, some type of beans (I usually use tinned butterbeans).
Pour over passata or chopped tomatoes, add some herbs and a bit of garlic if you fancy.
Add a glug of worcester sauce if you want to spice it up a little.working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
oooh sounds nice!
How long for in the cooker??
Thank you!
I'll start a recipe word doc and add this to it.

Hi The Golden Goose,
I agree with newlywed, sausage casserole was the first thing I thought of when I read your post. There are more variations here:
Does anyone have a recipe for a simple sausage casserole I can make in the SC?

Start with stew, of course! I think my thread here might just be suitable for a beginner. If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0
