Joint insurance when co-habiting

I am buying a house and I am living with my boyfriend. The house will be in my name only. I understand I cannot have my partner's name as joint insurance. What do I do about his contents, does he have to have separate insurance? Thanks

His name should be on the policy as a joint policy holder on the contents insurance as the home includes his contents.

You may have to take out building and contents seperately.

He should not insure his contents seperately as it can cause problems if you have a claim
