Hardwood french doors?

Hopefully someone may come along who can point me in the right direction.
I am looking for 2 sets of hardwood french doors 1.8m x 1.8m
We are in Lancashire/North Yorkshire.
Obviously I have looked at Wickes etc but I was wondering if it may be possible to get these made by a joiner instead. I haven't got a bottomless budget but in this economic climate I prefer to spend my money with a small business.
any tips please gratefully received.

I had mine made and fitted by a local joiner. I'm pretty certain he took more pride in his work than a 'shed' place would as he took photographs to put in his portfolio to show future customers..................
....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

Thanks Errata, are you allowed on this forum to tell me who you used so that I may contact him?0

Sorry, he did the work about 10 years ago and has now retired. I do remember the total cost compared very favourably with off the shelf stuff..................

I am a joiner and make these for a living...pity i'm no where near you though.
My advice is to try a few joiners to get some advice and prices.
1.8 x 1.8 is a standard size which you would be able to get hold of in the likes of B&Poo, Wickes etc but you will find the quality is no-where near the standard of a joinery.
Anything else, give me a shout0 -
I would be grateful for their details williamrobb88, thank you.0
