I'm looking to have a series of swimming lessons this summer to improve my technique and stamina in the water.
Can anyone recommend a good pool/instructor in the cardiff and vale area?

I did an adult education class at Radyr Adult Education Centre (based at the high school) a couple of years ago which was very good. It's for beginners and improvers but was mostly improvers. The cost if you're not on benefits is £51.20 for 10 weeks of 45 minute classes. It doesn't start until September but the details are on the Cardiff Council website under learning, search the adult and community learning courses for sport.0

Holly, I have been looking at doing the same course as you mention. Although I can swim I panic when out of my depth and I want to over come my fear of swimming with my head in the water. Do you think this course would be beneficial to me? Thanks0

Hi, I would say definitely as that was one of my problems - the other was that I couldn't do breast stroke and they helped a lot with that as well. The teachers were really friendly and very encouraging and as it is a small group there is good support from the other learners too. It gave me a lot more confidence than I had previously and I couldn't quite believe that they got me to go out of my depth when I've been avoiding it for so many years (not admiting how many!). Good luck if you decide to go ahead, I think you'd be glad you did.0
