  • Hi all

Thanks for your your replies, sorry I haven`t replied earlier as I lost my NIC and have only just replaced it.

I still haven`t found any more concrete info from the careers guidance, but I hope to find out after the Easter holidays. I will post back then or when I find out more/ have more questions.

    Thanks

    Hi casson,

A degree or a HND plus top-up degree years are worth the same. They invariable follow the same course and lessons. If someone starts at an institution on a HND and progresses onto the Degree, it is 'worth' the same. As I mentioned above, I did a HND and topped-up to a degree, but I never tell anyone - it is a degree and is/was a validated programme of study! One of my lecturers said 'never give a potential employer reasons not to employ you', so I don't! It's not a lie, I do have a degree!

A BTEC ND and A Levels are a different kettle of fish. Although it was marketed as 'an equivalent qualification', it is vocational and so is not as 'academic' as A Levels.

fair enough but all i am saying is it sounds better sayin you went and did a full degree at uni. Just like some uni's are better than others etc. might be same thing but things like that do effect your chances! and BTEC's do exactly the same kind of material as a-levels.
  • Do a Degree, lest you end up like me, who's !!!!ed up, had to stop going to college and cant resume the HND anywhere as nearly bloody everywheres changed to Foundation Degrees.
