Hi,
I currently pay £40 for a £15kg bag of dog food(lasts about 4 weeks) and am looking to find a cheaper alternative. I need it to be hypoallergenic as my dog has a few skin complaints. Any suggestions please?
Thanks

Have a look at James Wellbeloved - they do a lamb & vegetable and turkey & vegetable and are classed as hypoallergenic. Wafcol do a large range of "something and corn" which is gluten free and a salmon & potato. Those are the two brands that we suggest people look at if they need something slightly unusual ingredients-wise0

Arden grange you can usually find deals to be had on 15K bags0

try CSJ - they are very good, and if you email them and let them know your dogs specfic requirements they will often post out free samples!

CSJ also promote Autarky dog food. It's gluten-free and my old Choc Lab did very well on it. She got very itchy on a lot of brands - including some of the more expensive ones.
Jollyes stock it for about £18 for 15kg. Petplanet is more expensive.

http://www.heightsfarm-petfoods.co.uk/ is a new company near us. We've had samples from them and our 2 dogs seem to like them.
They are manufactured by the same people as Burns and James Wellbeloved.
We've used Burns in the past as well as our westies have gluten intolerence. Not sure if Burns is hypoallergenic though?

Burns can be found in a lot of pet shops, but not the larger Pet Supermarkets (I don't think).
Just like to add Heights Farm is NOT my company, nor do I know the owner!April wins: Weekend trip to Glasgow with Visit Scotland, 2 passes to home and garden event :TMay wins: 2 Mars footballs0 -
We used autarky and then started asking the country stores if they did their own! Ours does at £14 a bag (a big bag that is) and the dogs love it!!! Its basically the same as the beta stuff but is unbranded.
We did have some from the pet store last year but the prices went up to about £20 a bag because of the price of cereals - not bad for stuff that was gluten free...............
Our local country store is Thomas Bells but I am sure most of them will do it - places like CWG etcFree/impartial debt advice: Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS) | National Debtline | Find your local CAB0 -
