Private Registration - new retention fee??

Hi all,

Just purchased a new car and am just filling in the form to put my private reg on retention - it's saying it costs £105 for a year?? I've done this before for a year for free - is this a new charge or am I misreading somehow?!

It's been £105 to retain a numberplate from a vehicle for a very long while, at least past 6years! and then £25/year after the first year. Although, now you can add on additional years (up to 3) when you put it on retention first time.
