Applying for a new account online

I want to apply for a new account online with a different bank from the one I am with now to separate my household bills from my personal bills (mobile contract, credit cards, etc)

When applying for an account online, which banks tell you all the products you have been pre-approved for (i.e. credit cards, overdrafts, etc) there and then?

    Hi

    Just read your post.

There are a few banks which give "instant" decisions on-line, Nationwide being one of them, their Flex Account is excellent, and it will tell you at the end what facilities to expect, and when to expect them.

Lloyds DO NOT give an instant decision, they e.mail you and thank you for your application, to which if accepted, you get your welcome pack through within a week.

I think First Direct give an instant decision, which is part of HSBC group I think, but if your after a real time instant decision, and time allows, call into a branch of your chosing and apply within, that way you can clearly see with the advizor what is, and what is not available too you.

If you were to do this option, Lloyds would be the first on my list of choice, as they have been excellent with me, and I wished I had applied in branch, and not on-line, and also Nationwide have been excellent with me too, I applied in branch with them, and they told me immediately what I could and could not have.

I wish you success in your findings, and hope these suggestions point you in a positive way forward.
