hi im 24 and have good credit ratings, i went into the reserve fund of my back by 31 pounds and as i was working nights at the time forgot to transfer the money accross straight away and then paid it off 5 days later. i then received a letter sayin the bank will charge me £22. so i rang the bank and spoke with customer services who said that i was excelent with my money and as i have never had a charge like this that they will log it o the complaints department asking if they could wavier this charge as a one off as it was unusual and an accident, i then received a letter saying that as there was no fraugelent activity they would still charge me. do i have an arguement to continue to appeal against this charge? thanks

Hi,
I have had the same thing with my bank Natwest today, I went over my limit on my current account by 26 pounds, i paid 700 into the account the following day and they say they are now going to charge me 30 for going overdraw and 28 for them paying the direct debit that took me over and they will not refund any of this, what can I do? I have been made unemployed and cannot afford this, they know this but will not help.0 -
Katie, this one is Barclays Bank so you can ask them to remove the personal reserve from your account cos its £22 every 5 days that it is into it.hi im 24 and have good credit ratings, i went into the reserve fund of my back by 31 pounds and as i was working nights at the time forgot to transfer the money accross straight away and then paid it off 5 days later. i then received a letter sayin the bank will charge me £22. so i rang the bank and spoke with customer services who said that i was excelent with my money and as i have never had a charge like this that they will log it o the complaints department asking if they could wavier this charge as a one off as it was unusual and an accident, i then received a letter saying that as there was no fraugelent activity they would still charge me. do i have an arguement to continue to appeal against this charge? thanks
I think you need to start the reclaims process as they have decided that one mistake is punishable with no refund.0 -
With yourself Hammers, if this is the first charge then ask natwest if they will refund it as a one off, however, if they won't then you ae going to have to go through the normal approach.hammers81uk wrote: »Hi,

Honesty is always the best policy. And good luck on the job front, I have only just gone back into employment since losing mine so please remain positive and good luck on the job front and any more questions on the claiming front, feel free to ask.hammers81uk wrote: »no just money i was transferring from another bank account, im not claiming yet, today is my first day without a job, i will be but hope i wont need to to be honest0
