Hi Emptypockets
Hmmm, wouldn't have thought about putting Allbran in dishes as mentioned, and I can't say I've ever seen it mentioned in OS in that way (although, that could mean I just haven't read that post?!) I have only really seen mention of oats/lentils/grains/pulses/etc
I would be interested to know if others have done this and how successful it has been. In the mean time, here is a useful thread, followed by a few recipe links using All bran
What can I use All bran for?
All bran cake
All bran fruit loaf
All bran onion bhajis
I'll add your thread to the first link later
Also - bulking out meals, so you can read how others bulk out their meals
Incidentally , I bought branflakes to increase my fibre, and found they are scrummy with strawberries :j
Thanks

Thanks for those links, Zip - I left the bowl by the kitchen sink, and now the milk has all soaked into it, it's gone like weetabix does when left, so... I reckon it might work using it to bulk out meals... it'd take a bit of trial and error to get the quantities right I 'spose but worth a go. It was knocked down from £2.46 to £1 so even at that, now I'm back in the OS swing, would rather try and use it up than throw away
I presume there will be recipes on the website for using it in meals, will have a look later.
Think I would have to do it in secret and see whether it is noticed or not... hubby might well turn green if I told him his stew had all bran in it lol! He's finnicky about his food at the best of times "Your life is what your thoughts make it"

I had a book years ago from All Bran with loads of recipes in, including fruit loaf and muffins. Must have a look for it. If I find it I will let you know the recipes.
The fruit loaf was yummy and as far as i remember didn't have any fat in.0 -
I use it to make a Date & Walnut cake - everyone who has tried it loves it - can post the recipe if you are interested
