Good Credit Bad Credit

Just moved into my new house, have always had excellent credit, never defaulted on a thing.

My girlfriend has poor credit and outstanding debts etc. etc.

Will living with her affect my credit?

Surely not?

No, credit ratings assess people, not dwellings.

If you share a financial product (eg. joint bank a/c) with someone else, then you are financially linked to them and their affairs could have an effect on your credit rating, but simply occupying the same home as someone with a poor credit history, has no effect whatsoever ;)

it will only affect you if you have a financial association. So don't do anything like a bank account or mortgage in joint names. If you do not become financially associated, then her history will not affect you :)

Don't even apply for things together as just the application is classed as a financial association.

Home insurance, especially not one which is paid in full, is not included in your credit report ;)
