Not sure where we stand

Hi all, I wondered if anyone would be able to help??

We started a PPI claim with Black Horse, who are the finance company, but we were told by them it had to be made with Car Giant who sold us the car. So we did that, but I think it will now end up with the ombudsman as Car Giant after saying they would pay us £1000 (though this is £300 short of what we should/could get) then sent us a letter informing us Black Horse would pay the amount, 4 weeks later we've still had no monies sent and on calling Black Horse they have no recollection of this. We have since cancelled the PPI, on Car Giants say so (hope this was right thing to do), and Black Horse have changed our monthly payments to reflect this.

Okay, so this is my q' our new monthly payments also take into account the fact that we had PPI for the past three years, so an interest has been added . What we want to know is can they do that being as it was missold to us, because had we known it was optional we would not have had it. I can fully understand the interest being added if we had just decided we did not want it anymore, but the reason we've cancelled it is because we shouldn't have been sold it.

any help/ advice would be greatfully received

Good luck with this.

Apparentely they all have their own ways of dealing with this, so they basically vary from one to another company, if you have the policy on hand try to check out the terms and conds if you can.;)

But if your not happy with the outcome and they have not resolved this in your favour, write to them until you receive the final response, ask them to reconsider, the final response should give details of the FOS if eligible.

If you've already received the final decision then yes do move on to the FOS, they will look into all the details of your complaint.
