It is a shame the rules don't allow swapping on here as i find this is a great site for like minded people - but freecycle feels like most people just take anything and everything - probably to sell on , either on ebay or a car boot! It ruins the whole ethos of "freecycle". I wish it hadn't been so well advertised on forums as maybe only genuine "freecyclers" would have been on it!

    It's a decent one (I think).

It came via a haulage company so I don't think they would bother coming to collect.

Where we live, not many people pass by, so not sure it would get taken - but worth a try.

Is it a blue pallet? If so, they are only hired and have to be returned. If not, you can do what you like with it!

Just freecycle it if you can't think of how to use it.

I'd have had it in bits and build another raised bed for seedlings.

Or a herb trough outside the kitchen, or as a green roof thingy as they did on Gardener's World the other day, to go on a shed. Or a Christmas dinner bed with some carrots, parsnips and red cabbage in it.

Freecycle it - it's exactly what Freecycle is for.

Someone will nick it even quicker!

Try you local industrial estate. At my works we have about 7/8 pallets are just sat outside the building. We only need a couple and would happily give them away if any one asked.

Also ask around for pallet tops. These are hinged and about 6 inches deep. Not very big but can be stacked on top of each other.

I have 5 or 6 in my garden. But the wood is all dirty and oily so need to strip them down as I have a couple of pallets from work and will use the hinges from the pallet tops to make bigger raised beds.

    All the best.

    Yours
