Confused with electrical jargon!

Dear All,
We are trying to make a number of improvements to our flat as (with the current financial situation) we are likely to be here for some time!
One of the things that we desperately want to change is the integrated oven and hob set. We are all electric and cannot get Gas, so we are looking at getting some sort of package set to replace the current lot.
The problem is that both our current oven and hob seem to be on 13 Amp plugs into on 32 Amp "oven" ring main.
We want a ceramic hob and all of them suggest that we need a separate 30 Amp socket just for the hob...
I'm so confused, can anyone suggest something that we can just drop in without having to get an expensive electrician round?

Hi, No - sorry. I don't know any standard 4 x burner electric hobs that would require less than 30 amps. To be honest if there was such a hob it would be pretty rubbish!
There are some ovens that can work off 13 amp though, so that might help but I think you will need to get an electrician round. You never know, it might be a relatively easy fix and not be too expensive.

Hold on CK---take a step back and read 32A that sounds ok, it also state there is a 13A socket installed, that socket can be removed giving the full 32A required?
Leebobs there is no such thing as a 32A "oven" RING main, just a 32A single point feed. ????
My current hob has a 20A circuit breaker fitted, its old, the Moffat ceramic hob is +25yrs old, and I'm looking for an induction unit at this moment.
Now what?0
