  • I agree with what's been said, don't feel guilty, although I can understand it, it's not your responsibility to provide business for her!

You don't need to lie, you don't even need to give a reason do you?

    How old is your boy?

Don't feel guilty - perhaps he WANTS to go to the holiday club, maybe his friends are going? Tell her that :)

As long as you give her 4 weeks notice you have nothing to feel guilty about.

I used to be a childminder.

Its part of the job having children come and go.
You have a contract that states as long as you give 4 weeks notice (or 4 weeks pay if pulling out immediately) there is nothing she can do. Put everything in writing and keep a copy for your own records. You dont even need to give her a reason, its none of her business to know.

She should be working harder so that she gets more placements and personnaly your child will be better of where there are more children for him to socialise with.

Your his mother and you know your child best, and you can place him wherever you feel he will thrive more.

As for her having no income - thats the downside of being self employed and she should have things in place in case this happens. I used to put money aside in case a child left to cover myself until i got a new child. But i didnt childmind for the money i did it because i loved working with kids, most of my income went on toys and crafts and things for them to do.
:TIs thankful to those who have shared their :T
