Having issues with my favourites :(

Hi all,

New member here-never even realised there was a forum for tech stuff.

Basically, I can't save favourites on my desktop PC. The guy I had technology training with through Disabled Student's Allownae had a little thing on a USB he plugged in, clicked on and then I could save my favourites.

However, being the muppet that I am, I just deleted it off my desktop thinking it was a short cut. And after a clear out, I emptied my recycle bin too.

Without ringing him up to ask if he can pop round (which he probably can't...), is there anything I can do?

Thanks you in advance.

Katty x

Are you using Internet Explorer...? If so, you'll be able to save them through there. I assume you mean your favourite websites... .

Sorry, yes, I am using IE.

When I try and save a favourite it comes up with a warning box saying unspecified error.

Sorry, I didn't explain myself very well...

I'm going to bow out and let somebody else help you; sorry but I don't really have any idea why it would say that. Sorry I couldn't be of any use at all!

    No worries.

It's something to do with the Favourites folder on my hard drive I think. The guy who trained me just came along and fixed it. I can ring them tomorrow and ask them to fix it but I thought I'd be worth asking on here seeing as I discovered it!

Would changing to a different internet browser be acceptable to you, many on here including myself don't use IE, there are other far better ways to get on the internet such as chrome and firefox, would you like to try those?

Try saying "I have under-a-pound in my wallet" and listen to people react!

I thought about this but there are some programmes which I like using (email and some others) which I prefer for use in IE. I do use Firefox at uni because it is easier but although it's alright, I still prefer my pooter. I also prefer the font of IE.

I don't know much about computers at all so I'm probably making a fuss about nothing!
