company trying to claim money for an item that was reurned in Nov 08.

Hi

Can anybody help with this. I got a letter from a company last week saying that i owed them money. As far as I was concerned my account with them was closed in Nov 08 when I brought my account upto date and returned an editors choice item. I then recieved a letter saying that i had money owing. I called them to find out why they were saying I owed them this. I was told that they didn't recieve the item I had returned and that this letter was the 6th they had sent, this '6th' letter is the only one I have had off them and I have had no other communications with them since Nov 08. I have been sent a questonnaire to fill in and was told that on recieving the filled in questionnaire they would clear my account, however its asking me to provide proof of posting or reciept of collection which I cannot find. Will I have to pay them as I know I sent the item back via one of their couriers but cannot find the reciept as it was after all 7 months ago and I was under the impression my account was closed. Help!!!

Who was the courier? How did you arrange the return? If you put some thought into it, I am sure you can come up with sufficient proof of postage.

ive had the same problem with studio, i returned 3 items in one box they received 2 of the items back but mysteriously one vanished form the box. they told me they'd credited my cand close it, but to this day they still keep charging me and ive sent them proof of postage but they just wont listen, its been going on since june 2006.

Did the Post Office weigh the box before sending it? I had this problem, but was able to prove that I had included the missing items by showing that the weight of the box was that of all the items.

the courier was one of the companies own as I refused to pay postage for an item i didn't order on an account I was told was closed so they arranged for someone to collect it and they gave me a reciecpt for the parcel but I have looked and cannot find it. This was in the beginning of Nov 08.

So you need to find out who the courier company were and contact them ...
