Not sure that it is but there is a single core 3GHz Pentium 4 deal with 80GB HD and 512 RAM, free printer and 15" TFT for £322 delivered.

I really want one with a 19" TFT, as I'll sell on the base unit.

It seems to be either the:

    Dimension 1100 (D05116) £349 or
    Dimension 3100 (D05313 business sections) £468.83

    (Not counting the QuidCo discount!)

Don't know what other people think about the 19" TFT but I'm not very impressed to be honest. Since I got it in a great deal, and the 5150 itself appears to be very good, I'm not too dissapointed. I certainly wouldn't pay more than £150 for the monitor alone mind.

Of course it blows my 19" Trinitron away for sharpness but I've just taken delivery of a replacement and it suffers from the same problems as the first one I received notably lots of light leakage from the top of the screen! Blacks are way too bright - best to use in a fairly brightly lit room as you don't notice the light leakage and bright blacks so much.

This second TFT also seems to be quite "blotchy" in places but then again it doesn't have any dead pixels unlike the first one.

I have 4 more days to decide which one I keep and its a very difficulty decision.

That said, I am very picky about display technology, most people would probably be fine with it.

If you have an E196FP and you are having these problems I would first check your gamma settings and contrast/brightness are all OK. If they are then I would ask for your monitor to be replaced because I have one of these and it is very sharp and even with equal colour/brightness across all of it.

To be honest I wouldn't buy either of these as my first machine, because neither can take a decent graphics card and they use slower memory.

I guess this offer has ended. I looked the other day at the £399 5150 and £400(?) upgrade to the 24" monitor. I don't see the 24" listed anymore as an upgrade, and the starting price for the system is over £500.

Anyone else have any luck on this?

I ordered one of these pc's last Saturday.

I did'nt get a confirmation email from Dell confirming delivery date/time. But A man from Business Post (the couriers) phoned on Wednesday night at 8.30pm to say the pc would be delivered Thursday .am, which left me very little time to organise a morning off to accept the delivery:mad:
Anyway the pc did not arrive .am so I had to phone the depot who said it would now arrive around 4pm. Which ment I had to book a full day off work:mad: Finally the pc was delivered 5.15pm ( the courier apologized for the fact that I had to phone the depot (they should had phoned me) but if I contacted Dell they would possibily give compensation for the wasted day I spent waiting.

Would I be able to claim compensation for the wrong delivery time etc?

I too had the same experience. Dell will try and tell you first that they cannot give compensation but will give you a crap 128mb memory stick! I phoned twice and eventually got told that a £30 refund was the best they could do. Quite good seen as that is about a 7% reduction in cost! I would persist

PS Get a 7900gt and fit with a zalman coller vf-900 (ultra quiet). Replace dvd drive with a lowestontheweb £25 dvd-rewriter, sell the dvd player for £12 on ebay (it is soo loud). I did!
