WOW..............well done saving so much in one day :T having only really dedicated myself to here in the last few weeks i have put a few things in place but nothing like that, still alot to do and knowing there are real savings out there when you really look and try is a great kick up the :D

Have been trying to move some of my large credit card balances to 0% but OH credit rating is not great and although mine is better i don't work so any cards i may get accepted for will have a very low limit  but looking at the interest i am currently paying and reading about your savings will spur me on to keep trying.

    Hi QueenB,

The card that I managed to move my OH's balances to was MBNA Platinum. It's 0% for 9 months but there is a 2% BT fee.

    It's worth a try. https://www.mbna.co.uk

(although I know it's only thursday, with 3 days to go til next week so might be getting a little overexcited too soon...) fortunately OH well trained and good at not spending, just have to train me now...!

Welcome Clairey em and Mr Clairey em if he pops onto the site. It truly is an amazing site. There are so many friendly people, all of who will give you support and advice.

The best advice I can give you is to start a spending diary if you haven't already. I have been amazed at how much I have saved in one month by writing everything down that I spend. If I don't need to spend it and will be annoyed to write it down ... I don't buy it!

Good luck with the money saving. If you can you should put a 'Statement of Affairs' thread up and you'll get some great advice about how else you can save.

    thanks lewby!

will def do spending diary, although I already know I buy ridiculous amounts of unnecessary things, wasting loads of money! Not anymore! I've always been quite good attempting to sort debts out but until now have never really carried it through, but i think with all the help on here we could actually get rid of it. will post soa in due course, although it'll probably take 3 hours to type it all out!

    thanks for your support,

    clairey em

ps mr clairey em gone to bed as thinks i have new marriage to computer!
