Hi everyone.
I was wondering if anyone may be able to advise me ?
I currently work part time 18 hours with and income of around 9500 plus bonuses which could be another £1600,my partner is currently working 37 hours a weekat £370 gross, the job is currently just temp and they are advising him month by month if they still need him.
He has spoken to them and they have said they will be cutting him hours to 18 per week from mid july.
I have been advising tax credits month by month of the increase in income as I didnt want to give them a figure for them to be underpaying us for the year.
we have been claiming for childcare which is currently £31 per week this will only be claimed until september when the school year begins.
It is likely that the 18hours will continue until end of tax year but they will not commit to a contract as there was redundancies there earlier so they have taken him on via an agency.
I beleive that the was tax credits are calculated is they take your income as at the 5th april which at the minute estimating of the figures should be me £11100 and partner £10000 ish including the contributions based job seekers allowance which is about £280 claimed before he started.
my question is because the childcare will no longer be paid from september when the end of tax year comes and they take our hours at 18 each and income of £21000 what will happen ?
I am concerned that i am claiming childcare but I might have to pay it back we get another payment next week and out total tax credits will have been £1900 including childcare
we have previously just had £10.50 a week but partner took redundancy and is also starting collge in septemer if that changes anything. We have two children .
Sorry i apologise if this is long winded,I have tried to work it out myself from entitled to.co.uk but I cant see it taking into account a change of circumstances re childcare and income
any help would be really appreciated i am worried and would rather be prepared for it if they are going to take it back
Thanks boots xx

hiya just bumping this up to see if anyone can help
Thanks again xx0 -
you need to inform of any changes so when childcare reduces or ceases you need to inform them, once you have done this they will/should re calculate and send new award notice, keep a check on them.
If you are estimating income rather than p60 figures an over payment can occur as soon as you go over this figure, the 25k threshold is not included for estimates.0 -
hi
thanks for replying,I have been informing them month by month of any changes and they are reducing it accordingly. What I was worried about was the childcare that we have already claimed from may until september, that when april 2010 comes around and they say we are no longer claiming for this would they try and claim what we have had back ?
Also because my OH hours will have changed from 37 to 18 will we recieve the the amount we should have recieved for 37 hours until mid july when he goes part time, or will they take the 18 he will hopefully still be working by the end of the tax year and calculate a figure and claim back any money we have got when he was working full time.
sorry if this isnt clear
it seems to make sense to me.;)
we have provided figures from last years p60's on the renewal but because our income reduced by £25000 they are taking this years income into account for this year.
We have been trying to put money away each month when possible as i am terrified we are going to owe them loads of money,I have read too many horror storied about them
thanks again its really appreciated :T0
