If theres sign sayig "Wi Fi" on a pub for example, does that mean that its free to access, or does it just mean you can access it, but you have to pay? sorry if this is "basic"

Usually it is a free service provided by the establishment, somtimes you need to ask the staff for the access code.0
-
Its usually free as long you buy a drink but you would have to ask if you need to buy a drink or drinks0

If you try accessing it (there should be no encryption on the WiFi), and load up the internet you should come to a page where you have to log-in to access the internet. Then you have to purchase an access code for an hour or two, that's how it normally works anyway

BT has free a roaming service that you opt in to. You share to others a small bandwidth off your router and you can use other BT hotspots when out and about.0
