Hi Nikki,
Go to https://www.bankactiongroup.co.uk and go to the forums and i do believe there are some letters about asking for 6 years worth of bank statements, you will need to send them £10 as this is a statutory amount to cover their costs.

Hi
I'm in the same boat as you, i want to buy a house next year but i have 1 ccj for £262 and one default from british gas.
I did not know about this CCJ being issued to me, i did not recieve any paper work stating i was getting a CCJ.
The first time i new about the debt was when a bailiff sent me a letter demanding money. Which i paid straight away. It wasnt until a year later i looked at my credit file and found the CCJ on my file. I was outraged. So now i'm going to fill in a form called a N244 and send it to the courts stating my reasons on why i want my ccj removed.
Next i'm going to work on getting my default removed, follow this link it is very useful.
http://www.learnmoney.co.uk/credit-cards/remove_default_notice.html
It might take a while and a good couple of letter writing sessions but worth it in the long run.
I hope this helps you, take care0 -

Once again thanks to everyone!!!

DPA request means Data Protection Act request. By law any organisation must provide all data held on you which will of course be all your previous bank statement/charges etc etc over the last 6 years for a fee of no more than £10 within 40 days.0

Thanks to you all
Id imagine even thought they are satisfied, they may effect your ability to get a decent interest rate.
Im in the same boat. When im debt free ill be looking to apply for a mortgage.
I have one satisfied default & im quite concerned ill either be turned down or will only be able to get a high interest rate. :rolleyes:Debt at highest £16k+
Debt at lightbulb moment £14,800
Current debt £6336

It depends on the amount of the CCj and defaults whether mainstream lenders would be happy to lend to you. I work for a lender and know that they would feel that there were slightly too many and are over £250. This isn't to say that you won't get a mortgage from a mainstream lender, I just wanted to let you know the possible implications. As someone has said, they must be satisfied and you must have a certificate of satisfaction for the CCJ for the bank to consider it. When you and your partner are ready, I would visit a mortgage broker. Someone like Bradford and Bingley is a major one, rather than Mr Ripoff down the highstreet, and will be able to search the market for a lender who will be more lenient in your circumstances.
BTW Definitely go for the charges. I am doing mine using the advice on the consumeractiongroup site and they have until Monday week to pay otherwise we issue a claim to the courts!!
Good luck

I just paid for a credit report with checkmyfile.com, doesn't show that much on there except the fact that I have one ccj (that I didn't know about) and 3 defaults (one of which I didn't no about and can't work out how I have it).
My friend told me it's best to get the statutory report from both equifax and experian, so have ordered these.
I am a 25 yr old single mum, studying in college and on benefits, I seperated from my sons father about 4 and a half years ago, and being very young and foolish we had catalogues store cards etc.
Since seperating from him, I didn't get any mail and moved around with my son for a while, therefore did not get any letters reguarding my defaults etc, so when I look at my online credit report with checkmyfile.com I hav'nt a clue who they are as they don't say a company name, and I don't know how to contact them to repay it!
I am renting at the moment and would really like to buy a house with my current partner (who has an amazing credit score) sometime next year, I am not going to be able to do this am I?
If I was to repay all the debts (providing I can find out who they are) would I be able to get the ccj and deafults removed?
They don't total that much.
One default is with capital one totalling £515 (mostly late fee's) but spent 3 months in hospital and just fell behind, have just received a letter from them, quite a nice one so I know I can sort this one out but what about the rest and how do I find out the ccj and default I have no idea who it is with?
If I was to put up the info I have on checkmyfile.com on here would someone be so kind to have a look at it for me and provide any solution, if there is one?
Thanks guys
Nikki x
