childcare question

I get help from child tax credits with my childcare i rang tax credits because my daughter is going to go an extra day to nursery so my nursery fees will be going up .I told tax credits that i now be paying £50 per week but it is only going to be £42 do i need to phone them again ? I am asking in regard to the £10 disregard when i tried to phone today but the line was busy it did say something about if your childcare is altering by £10 you need to inform them .

    Yes you need to tell them, if they do a spot check with your provider it will show you have over claimed. The £10 disregard is for if costs fluctuate by a few pounds rather than telling them incorrect info.

    Yes you have to tell them, as your costs have never been £50, the disregard does not apply
