Anyone got anything positive to say about Ceramica?

Hi all,

Well, I wussed out of buying a secondhand bathroom suite as per yesterday's post. Now I'm looking for a first hand one, and something caught my eye on plumbworld. Its a whirlpool showerbath for £499.

As always, first thing I do when I consider buying something is to go onto the web and search for reviews. Looking through comments on this forum, people seem to be a bit negative about the quality of the stuff made by Ceramica for Plumbworld.

As the bath deal seems difficult to match anywhere else, can anyone reassure me that Ceramica are ok, or is it a case of 'too good to be true'.

Much appreciated, as ever.

It's the whirlpool bit that would bother me. I think if they're cheap they're not very good. There is one in our house which I can't wait to rip out - apart from the cleaning aspect of it :( it's totally rubbish, it just makes a lot of noise and pushes the water around a bit - it's not very old as the previous owners out it in to sell the house I think! It's also a bit of a novelty - my kids are 4 and 8 and even they don't bother with it anymore.

If you're going to buy one it would be really nice to try before you buy!

All ceramica i have every been supplied has been cheap rubbish

Castings are very poor and waste outlets on WC are oval

Stick with the main UK Brands such as ideal standard and twyfords, Duravit and vitra are also fairly priced

Was the £500 just for the bath or was it a full suite?

Approx 2 yrs ago we fitted a lot of whirlpool baths from the bathstore, Most have had leaky pipework, a few with failed pumps

Whirlpool baths are like fondue sets, you'll use them at first but once the novelty factor ends you won't bother.

Just get a decent strong bath a shower mixer pan and wash basin.
