How much notice should I be paid

I have been made redundant after 19 months and they are saying I will only receive 1 weeks notice pay but they don't need me to work my notice period, is this right? I am paid monthly so I always thougth It should be 1 mths notice paid!!

    It depends what is written into your contract I think. Have you checked it?

    The frequency of your salary payment has no connection to the amount of notice you would be due to receive (or give).

    As cte1111 says, go to your written particulars of employment and see what it says about notice requirements. If you have nothing in writing (which you should have and you could take to an ET, I believe), then with less than 24 months' notice, you are entitled to just one week.
