  • the excel table didn't paste in correctly!! try this which is a summary of actual usage from the meter readings they gave me which they had taken themselves but never applied to account...

    16/05/03 --> 10/07/03 (55 days in period, 2166 units used, therefore average of 39.4 a day)
    10/07/03 --> 13/07/04 (369 days in period, 21051 units used, therefore average of 57 a day)
    13/07/04 --> 05/12/05 (510 days in period, 28037 units used, therefore average of 55 a day)
    05/12/05 --> 04/07/07 (576 days in period, 38279 units used, therefore average of 66.5 a day)
    04/07/07 --> 12/09/08 (436 days in period, 31449 units used, therefore average of 72.1 a day)
    12/09/08 --> 14/06/09 (275 days in period, 19055 units used, therefore average of 69.3 a day)

    My own house, which is a 4 bed (gas central heating and gas for hot water) seems to use about an average of 23 units a day over course of a year.... so the above seems really high!

    The first period you've posted covers the summer only and all the other periods are approximately a year which would explain the jump in usage. Immersion heaters can use a lot of electricity depending how long they are on each day.

    As I said in my first post I do think that the 12 month back billing rule would apply in this case.
