temporary employment

I have been offered a temporary post (applied for permanant post) with a new Tesco opening nearby. For 10 weeks, though it may finish sooner if tesco dont need temps.
My hubby is disabled & cannot work, we claim DLA income suport etc. have 2 kids although 1 will be going to Uni in september.
Is it worth taking this position at Tesco or will all the hassle of having to claim benefits again once it has finished be more trouble than its worth?
If it were a permanant position, I'd be raring to go. But i know from how long it originally took us to get all benefits sorted, it can be a nightmare!
A friend has told me that Tesco usually take on loads of temp workers while the store is new & until novelty has worn off, then they get rid of them.
I'm going to make an appontment with someone at the job centre, but I know alot of folk on here are sometimes better informed!!
Thanks

What kind of friend is that!
10 weeks or not it's 10 weeks of work, chances are they will keep people on , not get rid, supermarkets tend to gain popularity rather than a wearing novelty, the tesco and asda near me are forever expanding.0
