After being made rendundant when should I recieve my redundancy payment.Is it as soon as my notice period expires?Also is contribution job seekers allowance available to anyone who has been paying tax and NI?What conditions need to be met in order to receive the benefit.

JSA is payable to people who can demonstrate that they are looking for work. Contribution-based JSA requires you to have paid sufficient Class 1 contributions in the previous couple of years.0

I am actively seeking work but I think I dont qualify for a number of benefits as my partner and I have over the £16k (meant to be for mortgage deposit on new place).I think I would possibly get contribution based job seekers allowance.How many years do you need to qualify?Would I get this if my partner is working? Also should I sign on before my notice period ends?Any other benfits I can claim?0
