Hi

I downloaded Open Office onto my laptop when I bought it last year cos I couldn't afford Microsoft Office. I've now bought Microsoft Office Enterprise [STRIKE]2000[/STRIKE] 2007 (cheap through work:D) and wondered if you could advise me whether I should remove Open Office before installing Enterprise?

Thank you.

    Won't matter.
Ubuntu is an ancient African word, meaning: 'I can't configure Debian'.

Delete Open Office whenever you like, you can always download again no problem if necessary . As long as your happy using Microsoft Office Enterprise 2000 its not an issue.

MS office will make OpenOffice redundant so you might as well remove it :)
  • I you have the Hard Drive Space I would install them side by side. This will allow you to open any documents in Open Document Format (Open Office Default). If you uninstall just check that all your documents are saved in an MS Office 2000 computable version.
As a matter of interest, what drew you back to pay for an old copy of MS office, rather than have a more up to date Office Package?

Thanks everyone for your help. I wasn't sure if they'd try and fight each other somehow (well I don't know how these things work) so its brilliant that I can just bung on the MS.

    Madboater - sorry, its a typo:rolleyes: - its the 2007 version that I've bought.
