hi guys,
im just looking for some opinions on this.
Its time to renew my car insurance but am not sure if the following are worth taking out
hire car and personal injury claims
both are £30 each
the policy would be with elephant.
does anyone have any experience with this?
thanks loads

Do you need a hire car?
Could you get to work by other means (bike. bicycle, legs, train, bus, lift etc.) or would you be totally stuck without a car?
Depends on your circumstances.
Someone who was disabled and couldn't walk far, might really needs it, but if you have a good bus and train service then perhaps you don't.
As for legal cover, yes I've used it.
It gives you peace of mind if you needed to claim for uninsured losses like time off work.
Again depends on how skint you are.
If you can afford it then it has some value, if you are really going to struggle then you could chance it.
These items are small fry in terms of savings really.
Have you concentrated on all larger areas first?
For exmaple it's not worth worrying about £30 here if you coudl save £3K on your mortgage.0 -
years back someone ran into the back of my car, i didnt have the hire car extra on my policy however he did so i claimed it from him, however i always thought well if he didnt have this then i owuld be stuffed so since then always added it on purely due to the inconvience of not having a car causes, not just for getting to and from work but also for things like shopping, meeting friends etc
you have to think if its worth it and if it is then 30 quid a year is nothing tbh0
