Thanks, that is a good idea, and I never thought of it!Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0 -
You could try half and half. Buying something like soap powder, bit of pasta/rice and some nice bubble bath and perhaps a bottle of wine.:DGrocery challenge june £300/ £211-50.
Grocery challenge july £300/£134-85.0 -

How about saving it for Christmas, as most folk spend more then.Like good food and drink?
Try Hotel Chocolat and Baileys.

Thank you for all your replies.
I have more or less settled on things like barley, lentils etc which are great thrown in a casserole and really don't go off if stored in a reasonable manner. The Christmas idea is a great one - I shall consider my willpower :rotfl::rotfl: But my son's birthday is near Christmas, so plenty of goodies needed then.
I suppose I could try stocking up on things like flavourings, but my cooking at the moment is sporadic. I may get some jellies in. When my husband's niece was little I used to make stripy jellies for her - you know, get half a dozen clear plastic cups and then put a layer of blackcurrant jelly. When that was set add a layer of lime jelly, when that was set add a layer of raspberry jelly etc. I am sure little bear would love that.
 Last week I stocked up on Basics tissues, which are absolutely fine for mopping up little bear, and they were at 12p per pack.
Hmm. How far can I stretch this £10I shall give a breakdown when I do spend it.

Well, I have been remarkably staid and sensible. The voucher expires 8 August, and I am confident that I would not be able to resist goodies for Christmas, so it had to be for now. We have just taken delivery of a far too large consignment of goodies from approved foods who are extremely bad for my waistline, so I didn't feel too deprived.
So I bought an extremely dull £10 of items. It all should store, it all should fit in with the cooking I do and I consider it mainly good value for money. For interest, here is what I have put on the list, it is a Mr S order
Basics Potatoes x 3 @ 29p - 87p
Basics Kidney Beans x 4 @ 25p - £1.00
Basics Chopped Tomatoes x 3 @ 38p - £1.14
Sainsbury Sweetcorn tinned x 3 - £1.19
Sainsbury Chickpeas 500g - 99p
Sainsbury Haricot Beans 500g - £1.19
Sainsbury Yellow Split Peas 500g - 49p
Sainsbury Pearl Barley 1kg - 76p
Sainsbury Red Lentils 1kg - £1.76
Sainsbury Green Split Peas 500g - 49p
If I have added up correctly (:o back of an envelope job) then I have a whole 15p left over.
The pulses are what help me stretch 1kg of stewing steak to feed three for at least three meals, lol. They are also incredibly good for the health (:o and I actually like the tast of them).
Thank you for all the suggestions, I really appreciate them.Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0 -

Forgot to put in the e voucher code. So I have just had an extremely sensible delivery which was £10 more than I had planned
But I have decided that two things have become very clear
1 I have now some extremely sensible stocking up stuff in the cupboards.
2 It is a sign - a treat it is. Alcohol is usually not possible for me because of tablets, but chocolate is always possible. Also, I shall price up some steak. I think dear heart definitely deserves steak.
Thank you for all the suggestions.Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0
