How to spend £10?

Last week the Mr S delivery was twenty minutes late. They had rung, half way through the designated one hour time slot to warn me, it was only twenty minutes over a one hour time slot, stuff happens, their delivery is normally brilliant - I wasn't in a very complaining mood.

But they did give me a £10 voucher.

Well, I could probably knock it off my next bill. But the last few weeks I have only spent around £40-£50 and if I go below £40 I have to pay an extra £2.50 on my delivery charge.

My freezer is packed solid, absolutely jammed.

I am torn between getting a 'treat' for me and dear heart and stocking up the store cupboard.

If I was to stock up the store cupboard, does anyone have any suggestions? I can't make up my mind (nothing new there )

Thank you

Thank you for the replies! I really appreciate them because I have been dithering.

I think stocking up the cupboard is the way to go. (Evil cat is on a special diet, apart from what she steals).

The pasta, kidney beans and sweetcorn seem particularly good suggestions to me as it fits with my limited cooking, can be bought in the basics range and will store for a long time. Also passata - I hardly use it, but I think I don't use it because I don't have it in :o I use condensed tomato soup :o Which I suppose I could also stock up on.

But I would appreciate any other suggestions.

Some weeks like this weeks when we went to nearest city we stock up on offers, we did Tesco's and Asda for some food (not for freezer) then did weekly shop at Morrison's. Oh and we went to home bargains, love that store

We spent around £250 in all (with clothes, nick nacks) but we wont do a big shop for a couple of weeks, I always like the BOGOF although they are now getting more scarce

We also stock up on freezer stuff, we have two freezer one a large one when thats usually over filling although looked today and its being run down

    I love a bargain

I was thinking about barley (I love that in stews) as that doesn't really go off if properly stored, and things like beans and lentils.

I was also considering some jars of pasta bake sauce - Dolmio two for £2.50, but I think I may look up the recipe on the Old Style Board instead.

I still can't get my head round the price rises. Even the bargains don't look like bargains any more :(

Thank you - I've just remembered I've run out of balsamic vinegar.

(also, eventually worcestershire sauce does go past it's best. It seemed a good idea at the time to buy a bit container...)

I'm quite tempted by the booze idea - myself and dear heart drink more in theory than in practice, but when darling father visits he does rather hit the sauce.

You would be better looking at the store cupboard challenge on OS to find what other people keep a stock of, my store cupboard wants would be totally different from other peoples.
