Help Plz!!!!

hi every1, mayb wrong place to post, sorry! recently got credit files from equifax and experian - equifax one is a nightmare got me + my mum mixed up a load of her stuff on my file in process on getting this sorted out. Anyways my experian file is v.good not a single thing wrong on it and no missed payments etc.

Last month got turned down by virgin for credit card told my to check my credit file. I checked on martins article 'who uses who?' virgin use both equ and exp. Should I try applying for card with a company that just uses experian?
any1 know if this would make a difference? any1 done this?

Hello amy21 and welcome to MSE and to DFW! :j

I'm afraid I can't really help much with the experian / equifax issue (sure others will be along shortly on that) but my OH was turned down for the Virgin card too even though his credit score is very good and he had never and hasn't since been turned down for anything else.

We put it down to the fact that he didn't fit into their criteria.
Good luck with sorting out your problem. ;)

I'd start with trying to get your credit file with Equifax sorted out... Get them to sort it properly :)

As for Virgin... know loads fo people who has been turned down by them :) !!!!!! knows how they pick people who are suitable :)

i would ensure all three of your credit files are sorted out. i would wait until then before trying again (presumably you are not deperate for more credit). its worth noting that sometime you can be turned down even with very good credit history because of who owns what...e.g Virgin are really not much more than a marketing branch of MBNA so if you already have MBNA cards they may turn you down because you have too much potential credit with them.
