Hi There,
I work full time and my partner plans on attending college in september this year, will we be able to get help with childcare costs? will it be only when my partner attends college?
thanks for any help
Luke

Both parents usually have to be working at least 16 hours each to claim the childcare element, unless one of the parents is incapacitated.0

You won't get any help from Tax credits, unless your partner is disabled. Speak to the college your partner will be attending. They can usually offer some helpful advise.0

It depends on the course and the college. The college I have looked at has an on site nursery for the students to use, other colleges dont have this.
She will probably be able to get help from the college with childcare costs but she wont get any help from Tax Credits for childcare whilst she is at college, only if she is earning a wage.
I am in the same predicament, if I do a year zero Uni course they will pay all my childcare, if I do the access course I get no help, fortunately my child is 3 in September and will get funding in Jan 2010 but until then it would have to come out of my own finances.
My plan if I have to do the access is to do it in the evenings otherwise I will have to pay for nursery and I cant afford it
