Thanks for your answer.
I don't think it is overpriced, I just assumed that there was a certain amount built into the screen price that I could knock off.
I can't really afford to spend more than £2200, I just thought that I wouldn't even bother going to the trouble of test driving it etc if theres no possibility of getting it for that price!0 -
Well what kind of car is it ? Mileage, Age etc?
Is there a warranty included. What about service and MOT
If its already competiviely priced and the dealer has alreaady spent money servicing it annd MOT'ing it there unlikely to drop a lot. If not there is is leeeway if say the MOT is due soon.
Definitly test drive it and ask. No harm in that.0 -
i would go on to autotrader and look at how much the same car is being sold for to get an idea of its value.0

Read my experience here - was in the same boat as you last year. http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?p=12094203&highlight=the+negotion+begins#post12094203
Good luck and be brave, it's worth it!!0 -
Just tell him you like the car but you've been looking around the £2200 as a maximum, will he do it for that, then point out about any tax or MOT, i think from a dealer i'd be wanting to get a full test, Then ask will he do a service; valet and a tank of petrol.
