    I would think the instructions mean that it can be used for that? rather than that it can only be used for that.

    i know it proably says on that google whatsit, but larding is when you thread strips of fat through a piece of meat to keep it moist during cooking... ive never done it myself though...

    If it really is a Dutch (smoked) sausage, then it should never be fried but poached in water.
