I bought a Dutch sausage today - its one of the U shaped ones, I know in uk you can buy them in a foil packet, but the ones here do not seem quite so pink.
But, on the plastic wrapping it says - use for larding and barding ?????? What does that mean  Cant say Ive heard that one before.

:rotfl: yes I thought so too, but the sausage looks quite nice - dunno if I should eat it or hurt someone with it :rotfl:0

Well barding is wrapping a roast in bacon rashers and the fat prevents drying, as lardons are mainly pork fat I would imagine it is something similar.0

Actually that sounds quite nice - I must try that.
I do a real nice cabbagy mash - boiled up some cabbage and potatoes together and when just a bit of liquid left, put in a blob of butter then after a bit mash it all up together. YOu have to have a good dash of black pepper in it - its really good, its the only way I can get cabbage in the kids :T0 -
Thanks Willow - so I suppose its not something I can eat with cabbage and mash then????? It doesnt look too fatty ????
Well I can't actually see the sausage in question but if it is what I am thinking of it should be alright if you fry it in it's own fat and then eat it with whatever you want.0 -
