Hi everyone - I'd like to take part in this too - but can you tell me if the figure you put down is supposed to include everything (shopping, diesel etc) as well as just the daft wee bits and bobs you spend on?
    Thanks!

    Hi Jomilne.

People do both. I think the majority use it for bits & bobs and not items budgeted for elsewhere. So I budget for fuel & groceries seperate so don't include them- mine is the wasteful money I don't need to spend or the unexpected items.

Some people do include fuel & groceries- they usually state this in their first post of the week - really it depends what works best for you.

    Welcome aboard.

SazM -Ymmm now you've made me really want a toasted teacake!

Hi Jomilne, It can include whatever you want it to.

I don't include anything already budgeted for like petrol, food shop, kids clothes etc, I just count any extras like coffee's, lunches out, play gyms, clothes for me etc. I have £30 a week left over in my budget so that's what I aim to spend below each week.
    Good luck with it! :-)

Thanks! OK, I'll try for £30 this week - have a do tonight for someone from work who's leaving, so hopefully I'll be able to do less than this next week....
  • Thanks for making me feel so welcome pointypenguin and Tixy.

Have spent £2 this morning kicking off a charity thing at work. It's one of those where half of the money goes to the charity and the other half goes to whoever has picked the winning number. So I could end up getting more money back! Fingers crossed.....

£1.94 on teacakes & butter (to toast at work- had one today very tasty) but I'm going to eat these for lunch all week so I'm putting it in my grocery budget!! (Anyway its SazMs fault!)

But also spent £3.57 in home bargains on some super bargains on toni&guy hair products & £1.99 on a new sports bottle - so I'm declaring £5.56 for today.

Ymmm dizzydebs - triple choc icecream sounds lovely (now I want one of those as well- this thread is not helping me diet or save money!!)
